Dear Friends of MFGS
Please join us for the final concert of our Spring Series
Saturday, May 16th - Billy McLaughlin
The First United Methodist Church -7:30 pm.
McLaughlin was one of the pre-eminent Fingerstyle Guitarist in the 1990’s until Focal Dystonia literally destroyed his career. Only through his passion for music and his perseverance Billy able to actually re-learn his music one note at a time, incredibly, by playing left handed! Take a moment to view this Youtube video

Saturday morning
Billy will perform just after 10am on Pam Rossi’s ‘OverEasy’ show, http://wcsx.com/overeasy/ , WCSX, 94.7. Pam will be hosting the show from Eastern Market http://www.detroiteasternmarket.com/ so c’mon down, hear Billy play a few tunes against the backdrop of spring flowers and pick up something nice for your garden-or you can garden @ home while you listen!
Saturday afternoon from 3pm -5pm
Billy will host a hands on guitar workshop. This workshop is suited for all levels of playing. For those who might be a little intimidated by attending one of our workshops here’s something to think about. Just a few years ago Billy had to relearn each note of his music with his opposite hand. The difficult aspects of learning the guitar and the art of creating music with a flowing melody are painfully fresh to him. Who better to learn from?
The cost of the Guitar Workshop is $40. If you also want to attend the concert, the combined cost of the workshop and concert is only $50. Call 248-646-4030 to reserve a spot @ this workshop. Seating is limited. How often do you get the opportunity to spend 2 hours learning the guitar from a world class musician?
The Michigan Fingerstyle Guitar Society is a 501 (3)(c) non profit organization
